Large-diaphragm microphones are notoriously sensitive beasts that pick everything up, even the natural reverb of the space. Designed to efficiently counter this effect, the Kaotica Fatboy blocks the rear, sides and the top of the microphone, preventing unwelcome reverb and echoes from making it onto the recording and resulting in a radio-worthy closer, cleaner and dryer sound. You could basically see the Fatboy as a portable vocal booth, and besides serving as a reflection filter, this model even features an integrated pop filter.
